JOINT STATEMENT BY THE ESG AND GONHS ON ECJ RULING

The ESG and GONHS welcome the swift and detailed explanation given by Government on the issue of environmental protection and the latest ECJ ruling. The groups ask that the Govt confirms that the environmental protection measures included in directives which do not apply to Gibraltar, are covered under Article 174. If they are not, then, we do have a serious problem which affects our health and safety and security and this issue has to be given political priority.
