The first Clean Up the World (CUTW) planning session saw an excellent turn out and a renewed commitment by all present to support this years Clean Up. This promises to match or possibly exceed last year’s efforts where over 40 tonnes of rubbish was collected over the weekend preceded by an impressive parade and exhibition in the heart of town.
The Clean up Campaign is a multi- tiered, cross community effort which involves schools, clubs, organisations, businesses, NGO’s, Services, Govt Depts and many individuals to: clean up, fix up and green up the environment. The ESG has organised for various posters to be displayed throughout Gibraltar via the CUTW network which will raise the profile of the global campaign as well as call for volunteers.
Volunteers are needed and ask those interested in helping to please contact: 43156/71020 or 74467 as soon as possible.
The next planning session for team or group leaders will be on the 31st August which will again be held at the ESG premises, top floor, Plater Youth Club Upper town. Final details of sites and logistics will be on the agenda.
The ESG would like to thank: the Bonita Trust and GBC Open Day Trust who are the campaigns main sponsors for their valued support.
